Aeres: Nordwin College

A year ago, Aeres and Nordwin college merged. In the North and Central Netherlands region, they form a strong education and knowledge organisation for the green sector. The focus of education is on Agro, Food and Living Environment. The educational locations operate under the name Aeres.

Pilot project with remote management of emergency lighting

Aeres' facility management company manages the facilities and educational buildings. Some buildings also house companies. Among other things, the facilities manager is responsible for the Leeuwarden location of Nordwin College. Sqippa partner IVMV, manages the emergency and outdoor lighting in this building. The Inspection & Safety Social Real Estate Foundation (IVMV) stands for making social real estate safer. Marcel Schuurman, safety coordinator at IVMV, introduced Sqippa to the Facility Manager. This led to an interesting pilot at Nordwin College: a pilot project for monitoring two types of emergency lighting fixtures via the IoT platform Sqippa.

A pilot with two strong objectives

The pilot with remote management of emergency lighting fixtures has two clear objectives:

1. Ensure safety
2. Improve sustainability

Ensuring safety for pupils, students and teachers and other users of the buildings is paramount for Nordwin College. They should be able to work in the buildings as pleasantly and safely as possible. Being sure that a building is safe is therefore a very important objective of this pilot project.

Contributing to sustainability is the second important objective of the pilot project. Finding sustainable solutions fits seamlessly with the educational institution's mission. Aeres education lays the foundation for a sustainable society. It trains people who can work responsibly. And who take green innovation, creativity, technology and sustainability for granted.

Duurzaam onderwijs in duurzame gebouwen

The emergency lighting pilot is a very logical and interesting step, according to the Facilities Manager.
"With the pilot, the sustainability principle permeates the buildings where students are trained. As a facilities company, we are now running a pilot with Sqippa to discover the possibilities for more sustainability. Nordwin College and IVMV together closely monitor the results in the field of sustainability. They are also evaluating safety improvements. After all, remote management via Sqippa will have to prove itself. For concrete figures, it is still too early. But it is known that remote management contributes to both safety and sustainability. Because by managing via Sqippa, control is better and we can prevent problems and therefore work more efficiently."

The first step towards integrated building management
According to the facilities manager, the pilot is an innovative voyage of discovery. A journey leading to future-proof education buildings.

"Remote management via Sqippa does not end with emergency lighting. Sqippa stands for a total building management system. Through Sqippa, we may also be able to manage our heating, PV panels and the other installations in the building."

Finally, there is just as much to gain in educational buildings as in residential and office complexes. There, smart buildings and future-proof buildings are already much more common.

Because so many functions come together in Sqippa, cooperation is necessary. Sqippa has recognised this very well by creating the Sqippa community. In the community, building owners, facility managers and installers, among others, collaborate on total solutions for building management.

The facility manager values collaboration and recognises its importance.

"With the merger, we experienced ourselves how important cooperation is. We strive to be leaders in green education. By exploring the move to integrated building management systems, we are also putting our educational mission into practice ourselves. Cooperation with parties like IVMV is important in this respect."

Het beheer van gebouwen met IoT toepassingen wint terrein. De voordelen van het op afstand beheren van installaties en voorzieningen in gebouwen worden steeds duidelijker. Verlichtingsfabrikant HBI spreekt van een omslag in Nederland.

In de Sqippa-community werken we gezamenlijk aan meerdere thema’s. In co-creatie ervaren we steeds meer dat samenwerking meestal leidt tot meer dan losse soloprojecten.

Nordwin College start pilot voor duurzaam gebouwbeheer via Sqippa

Het bouwen en beheren van het bezit is al ruim honderd jaar één van de belangrijkste kerntaken van woningcorporaties. Maar de manier waarop dit wordt gedaan, verandert continu. CorporatieGids Magazine sprak erover met René Nicolaije, technisch beheerder planmatig onderhoud bij Wonen Zuid: “Het gebruik van Internet of Things (IoT) is voor ons de volgende stap in het goed beheren van woningen.

Schone lucht in huis door middel van betrouwbare mechanische ventilatie. Dit is het werkveld van Spiro Clean Ventilatie. Deze nieuwe Sqippa-partner is bijzonder enthousiast over de mogelijkheden van Sqippa op het gebied van service, comfort en leefmilieu.

Electro Consten realiseerde al diverse projecten waarin verlichtingsarmaturen via Sqippa worden beheerd. Dit overtuigde hen van de kracht van Sqippa en de mogelijkheden die er nog zijn. Alle reden voor Electro Consten om partner van Sqippa te worden!

In de 35 jaar van haar bestaan heeft installatiebedrijf Willems Installatie b.v. heel veel innovaties in de elektrotechniek meegemaakt. Sqippa is hier een mooi voorbeeld van. Willems blikt terug op twee jaar Sqippa.

Sqippa, het IoT-platform, bestaat twee jaar. Twee jaar waarin techniek en kennis samenkomen om duurzame gebouwen en duurzaam beheer te realiseren. Hans Joosten, community manager van Sqippa, kijkt terug op twee jaar samenwerking van de partners. En vertelt hoe Sqippa door deze samenwerking over vijf jaar de standaard wordt.

Het is onvoorstelbaar dat het IoT platform Sqippa pas twee jaar bestaat. Na de kick-off van de Sqippa community op 9 april 2019 is er zoveel bereikt! Oprichter Fons Bisscheroux had de visie, de Sqippa-partners maken het waar.

Merapar is een nieuwe partner van Sqippa. Dit toonaangevende multi-cloud softwarebedrijf is een waardevolle uitbreiding van de Sqippa community.

Sqippa toegepast in hoogwaardige kantoren Twinport

Onlangs zijn meer dan tweehonderd hoogwaardige noodverlichtingsarmaturen geïnstalleerd in wooncomplex Jo van Dijkhof. De armaturen - van Sqippa partner HBI Bisscheroux - zijn uitgerust met LoRa sensoren. Niet eerder werd in één slag zo’n grote stap naar draadloos beheer van noodverlichting via het Sqippa platform gezet.
